This was the only chance to get even a substitute of the real torch and is the only replica that allowed in my Olympic collection. As you may know only 23 of the 1952 Helsinki Torches were made. The original torch was made of an alloy containing 750 gr. of silver. It is impossible to add an original torch to your collection as all the examples are owned by museums and a few collectors. Some years ago (2011) one of those torches was sold in an auction in Paris for about 350,000 €! In finland there is a special law forbiding the exportation and sale of the torch out of the Finish borders! They consider it as a national treasure!
Αυτή ήταν η μοναδική πιθανότητα να κλείσω την τρύπα στην συλλογή μου από Ολυμπιακές δάδες έστω και με ένα υποκατάστατο ένα αντίγραφο το μοναδικό αντίγραφο που επιτρέπεται να είναι στην συλλογή μου. Όπως ίσως ξέρετε κατασκευάστηκαν 23 μόνο από αυτές τις δάδες καθιστώντας τις το πλέον ποθητό συλλεκτικό Ολυμπιακό αντικείμενο.
Η αυθεντική δάδα είναι κατασκευασμένη από ειδικό μείγμα μετάλλων το οποίο περιέχει 750 gr ασήμι.
Το 2011 μία από αυτές τις δάδες πωλήθηκε σε μια δημοπρασία στο Παρίσι για περίπου 350.000 €! Σ
την Φινλανδία ο νόμος απαγορεύει την εξαγωγή
τους από τα σύνορα της χώρας . Θεωρείται
Εθνικός Θησαυρός όπως τα αρχαιολογικά
ευρήματα στην χώρα μας.

The Original fuel ceii that was used during the Torch Relay. The fuel cartridge of the torch is quickly detachable and replacable. Torch bearers had just to throw it on the ground and put a new one in to the torch for the next part of the route. Because of this, the organisers produced only 22 torches and 1,600 cartridges. Ένα από τα ελάχιστα υπάρχοντα δοχεία με καύσιμη ύλη για την δάδα του 1952. Οι λαμπαδηδρόμοι απλά άδειαζαν την δάδα στο έδαφος από το χρησιμοποιημένο δοχείο, τοποθετούσαν ένα νέο στην δάδα και ήταν έτοιμη για το επόμενο σκέλος. Για αυτό τον λόγο υπήρχαν μόνο 22 δάδες και 1600 δοχεία.
The fuel cell was made by the Finnish company Rex. It was the first ever product of that company that since then, they produce chemical products for sports as cycling and skiing lubricants.
Η κυψέλη καυσίμου κατασκευάστηκε από τη φινλανδική εταιρεία Rex. Ήταν το πρώτο προϊόν της εν λόγω εταιρείας και από τότε δραστηριοποιείται στην παραγωγή χημικών προϊόντων για τα σπορ όπως λιπαντικά για την ποδηλασία και το σκι.

Unique Torch relay Diploma
Helsinki 1952 torch bearers received for there participation only a medal. This is a very rare diploma awarded to one of the torch bearers of the Greek leg of the relay, by the commissioner for the Physical Education of the prefecture of Achaia (Patras). Patras is a city on the route of the torch relay. I think that this is a unique diploma and as far as I know there were not any other kind of diplomas given for the 1952 torch relay not even by the Organisers! in the frame, Attached on the diploma the torchbearers participation medal.
Οι λαμπαδηδρόμοι, σε αντίθεση με τις δύο προηγούμενες λαμπαδηδρομίες, έλαβαν για την συμμετοχή τους μόνο ένα μετάλλιο συμμετοχής. Αυτό είναι ένα σπανιότατο Δίπλωμα που απονεμήθηκε μαζί με το ανάλογο μετάλλιο στους Λαμπαδηδρόμους της Αχαΐας. Όπως αναφέρεται στο δίπλωμα (ΕΠΙΘΕΩΡΗΣΗ ΣΩΜΑΤΙΚΗΣ ΑΓΩΓΗΣ ΑΧΑΪΑΣ). Από όσο ξέρω δεν υπάρχουν άλλου είδους διπλώματα για τους Λαμπαδηδρόμους της συγκεκριμένης Ολυμπιάδας. Μέσα στην κορνίζα κολλημένο επάνω στο Δίπλωμα το μετάλλιο συμμετοχής της Λαμπαδηδρομίας.

About the Torch
A total of 22 torches were made for Helsinki 1952 15 with silver bowls and 7 in plate with a simpler design and they are considered as the singularly rarest bearers' torch in the Olympic history particularly as five of the silver models were lost during the relay. Because of the limited number of available torches, the usual procedure was not followed and, instead of the torch, torch-bearers were awarded a special medal. During the route, torches were passed on from onr torch-bearer to another. More specifically, when one torch-bearer’s part of the route was over, and after the lightning of the next torch, they would throw away the empty canister and replace it with a new one so that the torch would be ready for the next part of the journey.
Of the remaining 10 silver torches, three were donated to the Olympic committees of Greece, Denmark and Sweden, who had hosted the relay.
Scandinavian Airlines System, which had flown the Olympic flame from Greece to Denmark, also received a silver torch, as did four museums.
One more copy of the torch was commissioned in October 1952, with this and the other remaining torches given to three Finnish sports organisations - The Finnish Gymnastic and Sports Federation, the Workers’ Sport Federation and the Swedish-Language Sport Federation.

Ένα από τα μυθικά Ολυμπιακά αντικείμενα που θα μπορούσε να χαρακτηριστεί, το Άγιο Δισκοπότηρο των συλλεκτών. Η Δάδα των Ολυμπιακών Αγώνων στο Ελσίνκι το 1952. Κατασκευάστηκε σε 22 κομμάτια, τα 15 από ειδικό κράμα που περιέχει 750 γραμμάρια ασήμι και τα 7 από μπρούτζο με ένα πιο απλό σχέδιο. Η ξύλινη λαβή της είναι από curly birch (σγουρή σημύδα) μια παραλλαγή σημύδας από την Φινλανδία. Λόγω του μικρού αριθμού δάδων δεν ακολουθήθηκε η συνηθισμένη παράδοση της απονομής της δάδας στους λαμπαδηδρόμους. Αντί για αυτό έλαβαν από ένα ειδικό μετάλλιο. Κατά την Λαμπαδηδρομία οι δάδες εναλλάσσονταν μεταξύ των δρομέων και συγκεκριμένα, όταν τέλειωνε η διαδρομή και γινόταν η μεταλαμπάδευση, ο λαμπαδηδρόμος έριχνε το άδειο πλέον δοχείο καύσιμης ύλης στο έδαφος, ένα γεμάτο έμπαινε στην θέση του και η δάδα ήταν έτοιμη για την επόμενη μεταλαμπάδευση.
Στην διάρκεια της Λαμπαδηδρομίας 5 Δάδες χάθηκαν ή καταστράφηκαν. Από τις 10 εναπομείνασες δάδες συν μία που ανακατασκευάστηκε, 3 δωρήθηκαν στις Ολυμπιακές Επιτροπές Ελλάδας, Δανίας και Σουηδίας από τις οποίες πέρασε η Λαμπαδηδρομία. Οι Σκανδιναβικές Αερογραμμές που μετέφεραν την φλόγα από την Ελλάδα στην Δανία επίσης πήραν μία δάδα. Το ίδιο έγινε και για 4 μουσεία, 3 Φινλανδικές και μία Σουηδική Αθλητικές Ομοσπονδίες. Σήμερα η Δάδα του Ελσίνκι θεωρείται Εθνικός Θησαυρός για την Φινλανδία και η εξαγωγή και πώληση της εκτός των συνόρων της απαγορεύεται από τον νόμο όπως ακριβώς συμβαίνει με τις Ελληνικές Αρχαιότητες.
Νέα τιμή ρεκόρ για την δάδα του Ελσίνκι σε δημοπρασία του οίκου Budd £420,000!!!
